Asphalt Repairs
Asphalt is a very strong medium and it does hold up well, but after enough use and abuse, it does start to fall apart. As your asphalt parking lot begins to fall apart, it does pose a risk to both pedestrians and vehicles. The last thing you want is someone to twist an ankle or to hit that hole full speed and destroy their bumper. We can get out there and fix your Raleigh asphalt parking lot with minimal invasion, and get it back to working as well as it did before it was damaged.
Driveway Paving
Your driveway is a massive part of your Raleigh home’s curb appeal as a whole, whether you’re looking to sell your home or just want to create a more appealing home environment for yourself, how your home looks from the curb really says a lot about you. Just like everything else, your home driveway has a certain shelf life. A lot of people don’t even think about the condition of their driveway, but it’s truly an entrance to your home. A driveway in disrepair will be a big turn off to any prospective buyers and won’t look good to any visitors you do have.
Asphalt Overlay
Asphalt overlay is a method of paving by applying a new layer of asphalt to a deteriorating surface, rather than tearing up the existing asphalt surface completely. A Raleigh asphalt overlay uses that existing asphalt as a base for the new pavement. We will say if your asphalt surface has more severe damage like ruts, big potholes, large cracks, and any bad expansion, your asphalt will have to be milled down before it can be overlaid. Think of it as putting your home’s foundation on a weak and muddy hillside, your house can be as strong as possible but at the end of the day when that dirt on that hill decides to slide, your house is going with it. So we will only overlay on a solid layer of asphalt, for the well-being of your own parking lot!
Pavement Milling
Pavement milling and overlay somewhat go hand in hand. To put it simply, milling is the process of removing the top layers of a paved area, normally done to asphalt in bad condition that needs to be resurfaced. This is a great cost-effective solution for anyone who doesn’t need a full depth restoration, milling can be followed by an asphalt overlay and you’ve got a brand new looking and feeling parking lot in no time. We won’t do milling if all of your asphalt is in bad shape though, at that point you’ll need a full-on re-do of your parking lot.
Raleigh Concrete Paving
A lot of people favor concrete over asphalt for particular paving jobs like sidewalks and driveways. Concrete is harder to repair, but will last you a lot longer initially and looks great. Concrete has a lot that can be added to it to make it stronger, like fiber or wire mesh. It’s critical that concrete is allowed to dry completely before any traffic is allowed on it so that it can reach its maximum hardness and strength. If this step is neglected the result could be you having to replace all of your concrete paving much sooner in the future when it begins to fall apart! Unlimited Paving is the premier concrete paving contractor in the Raleigh area.
Asphalt Seal Coating and Line Striping
A proper seal coating job for your asphalt can effectively double its lifespan, potentially saving you many thousands of dollars down the road while also enhancing the appearance of your property and/or parking lot. Sealcoating helps your asphalt retain vital oils, keeps water out, and as a whole protects your asphalt from the elements. We’ve seen a good seal coating job extend the life of the pavement by 200-300%. Compared to the cost of removal and replacement, seal coating is a drop in the bucket and an incredible value.
Sealcoating and line painting go hand in hand, you’ll need your lines re-painted after a seal coating! Line painting is critically important to any good parking lot. They may be just lines but they dictate how traffic flows and how your parking lot works as a whole. The layout of your parking lot is critical, you want to both have as many parking spots as possible and have things flow as safely as possible to avoid incidents and confusion with customers. Surely you’ve all been to a parking lot that just made you wonder who in the world designed this thing, that’s exactly what we work to avoid.
Pot Hole Filling and Repair Raleigh, NC
If you’ve got damaged asphalt that’s got minimal damage, chances are very good we can save you a lot of time and money by doing some simple repairs rather than replacing the whole thing, either through milling or if that’s not needed we can just do specific repairs. Asphalt falls apart for any number of reasons, be it weather, bad drainage, or whatever else. Pot holes grow quickly once they form, so they need to be taken care of as soon as they can. We don’t just fill in your pot holes with asphalt and call it a day either. We isolate the area, remove the asphalt, and ensure the area gets 100% dry. Then, layer by layer, we add back in the asphalt to ensure it’ll be as strong as possible and not be a weak point for water to go to in the future.
Asphalt Crack Sealing
Crack sealing is the most common method of maintenance for asphalt pavements. Surely you’ve all driven on a road that looks like it had tar dripped all over it in random lines, well that was actually the asphalt being sealed and repaired! It’s more of a temporary fix but it’s perfect for preventing moisture, oils, any chemicals, and vegetation from getting down into those cracks and weakening your asphalt even further. We carefully apply and clean up after ourselves after using a hot-pour crack sealant.
